Stop Shopping, Start Snapping Photos

I mentioned my "vegan ethics" to a carnivore friend the other day. He laughed ... a lot. Part of those ethics include a compulsion to consume less, waste less and just live as thrifty as possible, thereby reducing my negative impact on the environment. What's so funny about that?

I know lots of people who shop when they are bored, but to me it's an empty activity. There's no creativity in shopping, and the high that comes from a shiny new object is short lived. Instead of copping out and dropping dough I get crafty.

Hitting the streets with my camera is one of my favorite activities. Everyday surroundings can be beautiful, interesting or mysterious. Just open your eyes. What do you see?

Hollywood Regency Appeal

Hollywood Regency is on my latest list of design obsessions. Perhaps it's because nothing in my eclectic home interior reflects the style. Must add glamor. I'd take the route above if I didn't have a design opinionated hubby to appease.

I would absolutely do a black room if I had more square footage and less of a propensity for depression. Lexapro. Now! But perhaps it would do my rooms well to have a few more punches of black here and there, and let's not forget the glitz of mirrors and metallics.

With my latest obsession for thrift and because my furniture is already acquired, the cheapest way to pull off Hollywood Regency is with paint. An injection of high-intensity, dramatic color on the walls, a vibrant painting, some white here, some silver and black there and I'll be la-te-da in no time.

The Importance of First Posts

Dig the colors. Intrigued by the art.

The cursor stares at me, blinking, taunting. First posts. Blah! The pressure. I promise I will formulate more complex sentences often.
About me:
Obviously I'm vegan.
" " I'm female.
I'm obsessed with style ...

art
I heart my two poopie dogs. One, Lulu, is a punk rock puppy. The other, Peanut, is a snobby debutante.
I heart my hunky hubby.
I've recently become obsessed with thrifty living.

So what's up with the artwork in the photo above? Did the lady make an owl her hat? If so that's not very nice. Or did the owl decide to crap on the lady's head? If so that's a power play.
